"How about this - shut your mouth or I'll kick your teeth down your throat and I'll shut it for you. "

The newest edition to my Dvd collection is one of the top 5 films of 2011, and that would be Drive. Drive has everything a movie freak like me could want, and then some. The music right off the bat is so awesome, you can't help but dance in your seat. Through the whole movie, every song and every beat makes the movie feel cooler and cooler. Then the directing is spectacular, not many movies in a year have the shots and angles that Drive does, definitely mesmerizing. The story is about a stuntman played by Ryan Gosling, who also drives a getaway car for anyone who needs one and can afford him. He meets his neighbour Irene, played by Carey Mulligan, and starts a friendship with her and her kid. Then her husband, Standard (Oscar Issac), gets out of jail, but runs into some trouble. Gosling tries to help Standard by driving for him, during a robbery. Soon everything goes to shit, Standard gets killed and Gosling has to save Irene and her kid from the mob. Gosling gives us one of his best performances in his career (another great one being Lars and the Real Girl) with other great roles by Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman and Bryan Cranston. The Dvd's front cover sleeve shows Gosling sporting his favourite jacket, carrying a bag and standing in front of one of his cars. The back of the case has 2 reviews from 2 notable reviewers. " 4 stars. A Blood Pumping Thrill Ride of a Movie," says The Times and " 4 Stars. Brilliant.," says Peter Travers from Rolling Stone. Drive was released in 2011 and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Released by Alliance, Film District, Bold Films and Oddlot Entertainment.
